Erigga was born on March 30, 1987, as the first of five children. He is from Warri, Delta State.
He attended Standard International School for his primary and secondary education. He became popular during his secondary school years after competing in the Milo Basketball Competition.
Career
Erigga aspired to be a basketballer before becoming a rapper. He was a great athlete and even played on a team that won the Milo Basketball Championship.
He shifted his attention to music and released Paper Boi.
Erigga started making music in the studio in his early twenties, drawing inspiration from legendary rappers like Eminem, Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Nas, Rakim, Ja Rule, and Canibus.
Erigga’s distinctive rapping style and the majority of his songs’ raw content make them inappropriate for young listeners. He raps in pidgin English, a West African patois. He is an expert at evoking lyrical images in the imaginations of his listeners with his well-crafted lines.
His music video for the song Dem No Get Two Heads was released in 2012 and quickly became a hit. The video was directed and photographed by Igho Tosin of Igho films, but the inappropriateness of the video had a big effect on his musical career. Erigga lost a lot of awards, endorsements, and nominations due to how poorly it performed on TV and radio.
His other songs are generally prohibited, but the musician does not seem to mind and keeps rising higher with much love from his followers. Erigga is currently contracted to Snow Man, a seasoned artist manager, and his label, New Money Records. His success is more accurately described as self-made.
Erigga released another single titled Love No Be Garri, featuring Jimoh Waxiu, in early 2014. His album, A Trip to the South, was released on 17 July 2017. He featured Orezi, Skales, Duncan Mighty and many others.

Family
Erigga’s spouse is Morenike Agarivbie. He married her in a traditional ceremony in Warri, Nigeria, on October 2, 2020. Their three-year-old daughter is Kyla Agarivbie.
Erigga once said he thinks that many unhappy marriages occur because women choose to marry men who are prepared for marriage over those they genuinely love.
Controversy
Erigga is incredibly poetic, but because of his music’s obscenity, he occasionally faces criticism and doesn’t get enough airtime. His music is intended for an older audience. He burst onto the music scene in 2010 with the graphic music video Dem No Get Two Heads shot by Igho. It gained over 5,000 views in the first week it was uploaded to YouTube because it was so explicit, arousing national interest.
Erigga had the good fortune to collaborate on songs with Law Low, a renowned heavyweight producer from Nigeria. The two collaborated on the song Won Be Be, while Igho again directed the music video for the song. In addition to these songs, Erigga has written over 100 songs while incarcerated in his native state of Warri for a juvenile offence.
Conclusion
He inspires many, especially those who wish to enter the music business because he is a famous recording artist who grew up in the streets. Despite the expansion of the entertainment business and numerous influences, his advice to young aspiring musicians is to be resilient, self-assured, and excel at what you do. Additionally, he advises that you be true to who you are and your culture, particularly in your music. Erigga thinks it’s important to encourage respect for and acceptance of different cultures.
