What is an NFL team like the Philadelphia Eagles to do when their team makes a huge play and they're not allowed to show their own video or GIF of it to their fans on social media?

They've got to get creative now since the NFL implemented a new social media policy forbidding teams from using any GIFs or video that is not created by the official NFL account.

Here's the new rule according to CNN, "From kickoff to an hour after the game, teams can no longer post their own video to social media. They can only re-post NFL-owned videos on Twitter and use Snapchat."

Fines start at $25,000 and go up to $100,000. That's an expensive GIF.

So what did the Eagles do when Malcolm Jenkins made a huge interception against the Washington Redskins? They posted a GIF of the play reenacted by an electric football set.

Then, minutes later, once the NFL's Twitter account posted a video of the play, they shared that to their followers on Twitter.

The Cleveland Browns also employed a similar electric football GIF strategy to poke fun at the NFL. NFLPA spokesman George Atallah took notice of this tactic and responded on Twitter, via ESPN.
