It’s not always great being friends with Conor McGregor.

The UFC superstar is known for travelling the world with his pals and taking them for a spin on his Lamborghini yacht, but sometimes he’s beating them up in sparring.

Dillon Danis has revealed the life-changing impact of one training session he shared with McGregor ahead of his grudge match against Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

The former MMA prospect was recently quizzed about an apparent ‘lazy eye’ by UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley after uploading a picture with his newborn son.

"You always have a lazy eye or just sometimes? Sorry high af right now can’t tell,” O’Malley tweeted on Tuesday.

Danis didn’t take offence to the question. The 30-year-old instead explained that McGregor shattered two bones in his face and left him permanently disfigured.

"Fun fact: In the lead-up to UFC 229, while doing hard sparring sessions with Conor for the Khabib fight, I broke my zygomatic arch and orbital bone, so I think I'm just stuck like this,” he replied.

Danis shared the previously unknown injury information alongside a video of McGregor talking about what happened while he was preparing for Nurmagomedov.

He said: “Broken orbital bones, broken zygomatic arches, swallowed teeth, broken feet, broken fingers – this has been a warzone!”

After emerging from the warzone that was camp, McGregor lost his battle against Nurmagomedov who locked up a rear-naked choke submission to find the finish in round four.

‘The Eagle then proceeded to fly over the cage to attack Danis, starting a mass brawl in the process that led to bans and fines for the two UFC 229 headliners.

Danis will soon put the things he learnt sparring McGregor to the test.

The BJJ Black Belt is set to fight Logan Paul in Manchester on October 14.

They’ll feature in the co-main event of a card topped by a fight between YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI and undefeated prospect Tommy Fury.

McGregor claims he will coach Danis ahead of his squared circle debut, and it’s probably best he sticks to that role after the damage he caused in previous sparring sessions with his friend.
