Diablo 4 Season Three Release Date Revealed and Yet We Still Know Absolutely Nothing About It

It hasn’t even been a year since launch, and Diablo 4 is already close to its third season debut. This has players asking: when is the Diablo 4 season three release date, and what will we be seeing when it does arrive?

At the moment of posting, there have been no specific details about the upcoming season, but there has been a 15-second teaser trailer that was released by Blizzard. The release date has also been announced through the game itself, whether it be by accident or on purpose, gamers are eager to see new content.

When Is the Diablo 4 Season Three Release Date?

When it comes to Diablo 4, there are many secrets the developers are willing to keep secret from the gaming community. Whether it be the secret cow mission, a hidden item of loot that makes you the equivalent of a god, or just the explanation of when players will receive more content.

There is always information that gamers are eager to receive, and luckily for those who are logging into Diablo 4 before this current season ends, you may see a small notice on your character selection screen, which provides you with the official release date of the new season.

Thanks to a small notice window on the upper right-hand corner of the character selection screen, we now know that the Diablo 4 Season three release date will be January 23rd. This means that at the time of writing, you will only have a few days to get online and finish any missions you may have missed within season two, in order to get those special armor cosmetics and horse trophies.

Since the release date is around the corner, we can only assume more information regarding the upcoming season will become public any day now. There will be a campfire stream on the 18th that hopefully goes into more detail regarding the future game update. 

What Could the Next Season of Diablo 4 Introduce? 

At the moment, there is no official information about the story in the next season of Diablo 4. However, there has been a short clip that was posted a few days ago, which teased players, and brought up a few theories gamers have been looking into ever since.

In the 15-second clip, players are shown a short sequence of machine cogs slowly rotating as the camera slowly moves closer to the center, in which the simple text “Evil looms” appears. This has many some confused, as Diablo as a franchise does not have anything mechanical involved in it, especially at a large capacity.

Since Diablo 4 is set in a fantasy world well before simple technology was created, it is rather unusual to see a teaser that focuses heavily on a mechanical item. After seeing this teaser, there are some gamers who believe we may visit the hidden workshop of a Diablo 3 character who players believed they killed.

However, this is only a theory, and most likely isn’t the case, as it is more likely a new threat has been unearthed within the world of Diablo 4. It will definitely require gamers to enter what is known as “The Gauntlet,” which is the new dungeon that will be available to explore throughout the season.

From the description that some players have discovered about “The Gauntlet,” it will be a game mode that constantly changes and adapts to the player, while also having multiple paths for the player to explore. It will slowly get harder as the adventure progresses, and if gamers manage to achieve victory, there is a chance they will land themselves on the title’s leaderboard and earn unique portraits for their accounts.

Until we receive more information in the next few days, there isn’t a lot the community can do other than speculate as to what we will experience. However, if the above theories are correct, and an army of automatons enters the world of Diablo 4, then that would be an interesting change of pace from a plague and some vampires.
