The Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba movie, Mugen Train, will be out in American theaters this Friday April 23, and many anime fans are wondering how long the film’s run time is, we have the answer below.
What is the run time of the Demon Slayer movie?
The Japanese version of the Demon Slayer movie had a run time of around 1 hour and 50 minutes. However, seeing we’re talking about the English American version here, the credits will be slightly longer, with both the Japanese staff and the localization staff. So in America, the movie is listed to have a run time of 1 hour and 57 minutes.
Counting the ads and everything, you can easily add a few minutes to that and basically, you should expect to be in the theaters for at least two hours. I’ve never been to America, but I’m guessing ads in theaters for you guys are much worse than in France.
When is more Demon Slayer coming?
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is currently one of the most popular manga of all time, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge. It ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 15, 2016, to May 18, 2020. A first TV anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable aired in 2019. Then, the anime movie titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train released on October 16, 2020, in Japan.
Mugen Train is a direct sequel to the TV series, adapting more of the original manga. In 73 days, it became the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, surpassing Spirited Away directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It’ll be interesting to see how the movie fares in America and if it breaks all records over there too.
A Demon Slayer season 2 was announced, and is coming on TV in Japan, and in Simulcast in the West, later in 2021.
