Rust: Console Edition players are gearing up for the monthly wipe later today (April 28), but before all of your progress is reset, there’s about to be a brand new update to download.
The developers have confirmed that today’s patch is only for an important bug fix, but players across both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be required to download it before they jump back into the game.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any new content for players to return to following the download and installation of today’s update. The last time Rust: Console Edition players were treated to any new content was back in February when the ‘Offshore Blowout’ update debuted. The patch introduced Oil Rigs to the game, giving players plenty to get stuck into.
But if you’re eager to find out what the latest Rust: Console Edition update is for, check out the official April 28 patch notes below.

Rust: Console Edition Update 1.34 Patch Notes (April 28)
There isn’t a huge amount of changes included in the April 28 Rust: Console Edition update, so the developers won’t be releasing a full changelog. However, we do know exactly what was fixed in today’s update, courtesy of the official Rust: Console Edition Twitter account.
According to the developers, the latest update fixes the following issue:
- Fixes some skin textures related issues
That’s all that’s included in update 1.34, but players do still have the monthly wipe to look forward to later today. Plus, the devs did inform players that further crash and bug fixes will be included in a future update, but when this future update is set to arrive is still currently unknown.
Hello survivors! Update 1.34 is required to fix some skin textures related issues, so there will be no patch notes this time. More crash and bug fixes will come in future updates!
1.34 will release today at 11AM UTC (in about 8 minutes).
