Sonia Ekweremadu, ailing daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has publicly appealed for a kidney donor.
The 25-year-old made the appeal on Monday, September 12, 2022, through her Instagram page.
Sonia was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called nephrotic syndrome in 2019 and has since been battling to save her life for 3years.

Currently in London, United Kingdom, Sonia said she undergoes 5 hours of dialysis 3-4 times a week.
According to her, the treatment comes at an expense to her family as she is not qualified for NHS because of her immigration status.
Sonia also revealed that doctors have advised against donations from her relatives as the illness is genetic.
She noted that willing donors must be purely driven by compassion with no reward expected as provided by the laws of England and Wales.
The Media and Communication graduate in her plea also committed to helping others with similar challenges upon recovery.

Recall that Skabash.com had reported that the Metropolitan Police in London arrested Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka on Thursday, June 23 over offences linked to allegations of organ harvesting.
The couple were first remanded in custody pending when they will appear at the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court.
The UK authorities stated that Ekweremadu and his wife have been detained and will be arraigned at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later on Thursday.
The police said the offense is punishable under modern slavery legislation in May 2022.
The case was transferred to Central Criminal Court in London after the Westminster Magistrate Court ruled that the boy involved in the case is not a minor.
The family is facing charges bordering on conspiracy to traffic for the purpose of organ harvesting, an act which is in violation of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Nigerian lady willing to donate her kidney to Sonia
Meanwhile, a Nigerian lady named Martha Uche has claimed that God instructed her to donate her kidney to Sonia, the daughter of Senator Ike Ekweremmadu, who is reportedly in need of a kidney transplant.
Martha had uploaded a video on social media offering to donate her kidney to save Sonia.
When Skabash.com contacted Martha on the phone about her offer, the lady who resides in Illorin, Kwara State, said she is volunteering her kidney to save the senator’s daughter because it is part of God’s plan.
She claimed the instruction to donate her kidney was revealed by God to her in a dream.
