McCORDSVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) - Changes are coming to the grocery market in central Indiana. That shift continues Tuesday morning, as two new Meijer stores open their doors.

Several Marsh stores are closing. Marsh is also closing all pharmacies. Just this week, we learned Marsh would have to remove liquor from their shelves because of state law.

In April, Broad Ripple opened a new Fresh Thyme and most local grocers are making moves to offer more on-demand online grocery pickup or delivery.

On Tuesday, Meijer will open first-time stores in McCordsville, off West Broadway, and Franklin, off North Morton Street. Both stores will open at 7 a.m. with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at 10 o'clock.

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Meijer says the new stores will create 300 jobs.
