Body Image Quirks: Do You Ever Buy Clothes That Are Too Small for You?

I recently went shopping for new jeans, and here's the kind of weird thing: I came home with two pairs that were just a little too small. Sure, I could button them (barely), but I wouldn't dare go out in public in these unless I wanted the circulation cut off to my thighs. Here's my thinking on this weird body image quirk...
****Isn't it funny how we latch on to a particular clothing size--as if the number defines us? We've talked about that a bit before here on Vitamin G, but not about intentionally buying clothes that are a little too small in hopes of losing weight to fit into them.
I've shared a little here about my battle to lose my baby weight (and I really don't have much left to lose--I've been working hard!). But I'm still not at my ideal size/weight, and that bugs me a little. So when I go shopping, I don't want to stock up on clothes in a size that I don't intend to stay in for long. As a result, I've been coming home from shopping trips with clothes that are just a wee bit too snug. The good: I have something to look forward to when I drop the final pounds. The bad: If I never drop the final pounds, I've just wasted some money.
