Tampa, Florida - It has the steepest drop, the tallest drop (200 feet), is the tallest coaster in Florida, and it is the only “dive coaster” in North America. SheiKra opens up to the public this weekend at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.Today reporter Bill McGinty rode the ride up front with Bucs linebacker Derrick Brooks.Busch Gardens also brought in real experts to give their opinion on the ride. Rick Searfoss is a former astronaut who has flown on the space shuttle three times.Rick Searfoss, Former NASA shuttle astronaut:Wow, this is quite a ride. It does remind me of the shuttle flight at the moment there is main engine cut-off. You go from slammed to weightless. It’s great. When you ride this ride you will experience weightlessness for about 2 to 3 seconds on the first drop. The front row offers a totally different ride than the back row. Both are fantastic! For the best seat on the coaster, sit on one of the two ends seats on either end of the row. You’ll see why when you get two hundred feet up in the air and hang over the first drop for four seconds.Busch Gardens says don’t fear the lines as they can move 1,500 people per hour through this ride.
