Gael Monfils is a French professional tennis player who is ranked 21st in the world. The 35-year-old has been struggling with injuries for the past few years. The Frenchman lost at the first round of the Australian Open 2021 to Emil Ruusuvuori. The former world no.6 picked up his first win in over a year after beating Thiago Seyboth Wild in straight sets in Lyon.
