The eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) ended on Saturday night with its award ceremony held in Lagos.

The award ceremony is designed to celebrate Africa’s finest movie stars, producers, directors and content curators.

Nollywood actors, Stan Nze and Osas Ighodaro emerged as the stars of the night with their roles in the Ramsey Nouah directed Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story.

While Stan Nze saw off competition from Gabriel Afolayan, Femi Jacobs and Timini Egbuson to emerge ‘Best Actor In A Drama’, Osas Ighodaro was awarded ‘Best Actress In A Drama’, seeing off competition from strong contenders – Nancy Isime, Kehinde Bankole and Bisola Aiyeola in the category.

Comedian Samuel Perry, popularly called Broda Shaggi, who is a first-time AMVCA nominee won in the ‘Best Actor In A Comedy’ category. Another first time nominee, actress Omowunmi Dada emerged ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Drama’.
