3 wood Or 4 Wood

Hi all.

Simple one this. 3 wood or 4 wood?

I currently carry a 17deg Titleist 980f fairway wood.

My driver (Titleist 910d2) is on a D1 setting (8.25deg w/standard lie).

Daft as it sounds but I have always struggled using a 3 wood (More mental than anything else) but I think there is too much of a gap between lofts.
