If you’d rather sharpen your mind than sharpen an axe, why not bring your team to an escape room instead? Escape the Room Houston offers team building workshops designed to build on the skills you learn while solving their puzzles.
Groups of up to 30 will be split between rooms like the Jurassic Escape and The Apartment. All games are private, and you can opt for virtual escapes instead. Afterward, you’ll debrief with a trained workshop facilitator to help you retain everything you’ve learned!
5. Make arts and crafts at Love & Make
DIY projects are a great way to hone your collaborative skills. Love & Make makes it easy by providing all of the materials you need to create customized candles, soaps, home fragrances, and more. You can also join a private virtual workshop from your Peerspace venue if you prefer!
6. Let out your frustrations at Tantrums
Rage rooms are all the rage these days. You’re guaranteed to build team spirit when you give your team permission to break all of the office equipment in sight! At Tantrums, you’ll have the option of smashing computer monitors, printers, phones, dishes, and other items that were on their way to the landfill. You can choose from themed rooms for a customizable team building event. If you don’t feel better after your tantrum, then at least you got a workout!
For team building of a different sort, bring your crew to Speedsportz Racing Park for a corporate event on a go-kart track. The venue can accommodate groups as large as 100, with conference rooms and catering options available so you can make it an all-day event. And, of course, you’ll have access to the half-mile go-kart track for some competitive Super Mario Kart action!
8. Throw a painting party with the Mad Potter
You don’t need a potter’s wheel to have a fun pottery painting experience. Mad Potter makes for a great team building idea in Houston, with mobile painting parties that you can set up anywhere, including your office or Peerspace rental. Everyone on your team will get the chance to paint an item of their choice that they can bring home with them. The Mad Potter will take care of drying, glazing, and firing your items within three to four days.
For an active team building outing, take a trip to the Flip N’ Fun Center, where you can spend the day playing games in a trampoline park. You’ll also have access to bumper cars, laser tag, and an arcade. Party packages are available for groups of all ages. This is the perfect venue for a game of dodgeball and other team building sports!
10. Host a corporate event at the Houston Zoo
Rent a private venue at the Houston Zoo for an epic backdrop to your team building experience. There are several spaces to choose from, including the Reptile House and the Carruth Natural Encounters Building, which includes a crawl-through tunnel through the piranha exhibit. You’ll also have access to A/V gear and furniture rentals and can add additional activities to your event, such as animal encounters, team building workshops, catering, and live music.
These are our favorite hidden gems in Houston. How many do you and your team know already?
