Authentic banks offer beautiful architectural touches like marble floors, statues, lofty ceilings, antique wooden counters, and other elements that create an immersive environment for your film. Period movies benefit from these settings but so do modern films.
In order to work in an Atlanta bank location, you'll first have to determine whether it's filming location-friendly. If they aren't listed on a website for space rentals, inquire directly through their website or in-person. Be ready to answer any follow-up questions the bank asks about you, your organization, and your film.
You'll likely have to sign documentation preventing you from showing the faces of staff and will be limited to weekends and other periods when the bank isn't open. Large downtown banks have beautiful interiors but smaller banks outside of the city may be more likely to accept filmmakers. You will also have to book a police officer to hang out on site during the film shoot. They will ensure you aren't up to no good when there's no one in the bank building!
